Sharp end of the wedge: six new projectors launched by Sharp

Sharp PG-150X, XR-30X, XG-F260X, XG-C355X, XG-C430X and XG-PH70X offer full digital projection capability

Following on from our recent Best4Reviews standalone test, Sharp has announced a further six new projectors to make sure it has the market covered.

From the press release:

Sharp Electronics is releasing a full range of projectors for those wanting a comprehensive choice in purchasing the latest projection technology. All models offer outstanding value and come equipped with full digital projection capability. Three speed colour wheels and sealed optics ensure that the levels of image quality and brightness are at an optimum for a wide range of applications and environments.

Shane Timmons, Sharp UK product manager commercial AV, said: “Today’s viewer is demanding the ultimate picture quality and control over their viewing preferences whilst often working to a tight budget. In response, Sharp has produced a quality and highly specified range of projectors to reflect this demand that redefine how projection technology is used.”

Entry level models
To coincide with the new school year, Sharp is releasing three projectors ideally suited to the classroom environment. The PG-150X, XR-30X and the XG-F260X are all DLP models and have a comprehensive choice of connections including DVI-D, often seen in high-end projectors, to offer digital compatibility with the latest technology. The Variable Audio Output feature simplifies audio control with existing sound systems. Each model is also tailored to the varying demands of the classroom whether it be schools, colleges or universities. An example of this is the Becta orange casing on the PG-F150X, added to deter theft and to provide added security. The XR-30X is designed to add high impact images to presentations with a stunning contrast ratio of 2200:1. As well as offering beautiful picture quality, the FG-X260 offers 2,600 ANSI lumen brightness to improve larger screen images and comes equipped with an ultra quiet fan to reduce noise. With all models weighing less than 3kg and offering direct power-off and auto restart functions, these projectors are the perfect addition to any classroom.

High brightness models
The XG-C355X and the XG-C430X have been designed to cater for small to medium sized venues where higher brightness and larger screen sizes are key. Both come equipped with an easily replaceable lens system and four optional lenses to cater for differing room layouts. They provide clear, easily visible images even in brightly lit environments and can project to a maximum screen size of 500”. The XG-C355X has an ANSI lumens brightness level of 3500, while the XG-C430X has an ANSI lumens brightness level of 4000. Both models provide features for portable and installation solutions, for example the new tilt leveller provides fast setup of tabletop projection whilst the LAN connection provides control and monitoring over a network or Internet via the built-in web server.

Top of the range
As well as all the features offered with the other models, the XG-PH70X offers truly high level performance. With ultra-bright, high resolution, high-end DLP and 5,200 ANSI lumen high brightness technology, cloudy lines and distorted images become a thing of the past. The XG-PH70X is also fitted with a dual lamp system to provide a constant level of projection performance. Along with powered horizontal and vertical lens shift, the projector provides convenient geometric and digital keystone adjustment to allow for awkward angles and six interchangeable lenses to ensure optimum image projection.

The new range of projectors all come with a comprehensive three year guarantee providing a 16 hour response time should any problems occur. This includes on-site repair, (where possible), with a service for de-installation, loan and repair, and re-installation.

Timmons continues: “In order to meet the demands of the market and give the customer complete reassurance over their investment, Sharp is happy to provide an ultra responsive package which complements the quality of their products.”
